Do you keep your 233 powered 24/7?

I've always treated my watches like my cars...the good ones only get used on weekends and they rest during the week.

On the 233, I had let it fully unwind and spent a ton of time setting the time the next time I needed to wear it!

Do you keep yours fully charged every day? Start to wind it once the reserve gets close to 0 so it's charged constantly? I slightly worry if this would be more wear on it if it's running the whole time for say, forever.

It's an 8 day mvmt... why on Earth fully-wind it on a daily basis...

I wind mine once a week and it's been going since I purchased it last July. FYI, I've only set the minutes-hand after taking photos, otherwise, it's been between +/- 15s since last July...

To clarify, I meant do you keep power in it year round....I didnt mean at 100% everyday lol...

I've always given my watches some rest and for them to fully unwound and rest for a few days before winding them back up.

I have several auto and manual wind watches but do not use a winder anymore. I generally wear a watch for a week and then choose a different on on Sunday. That way all watches see some wrist time.

It is generally accepted that giving a watch a full wind about once a month is good practice. It keeps the lubricants moving and gives the spring some use. I get lazy sometimes but in general I will take all my watches and wind them up at least every 4-6 weeks.

That being said, I'm not aware of any huge issue with keeping a watch fully wound or letting it run down for an extended period as long as it isn't left run down for 10 years. Fully wound is the same as wearing it every day and many people do wear 1 watch every day.

I'm sure the more knowledgeable TRF experts will be along any time to give better info.

Until then I wind my 233 and then let it run down to about 1 day left and then wind it again. I haven't worn anything in a few months since I acquired it and I don't see any other watches getting any wrist time any time soon!!!!!
