Shopping in the Caribbean
I was just on a cruise and started shopping for a 116613 Submariner.
I did not do enough research in the states before making the trip, so I did not make a purchase. I got a price at Kirk Freeport in Grand Cayman of $11,495. The same watch here in Florida will cost $13,400, plus 6% sales tax. I see alot of posts from people saying you can not save alot on a rolex in the Isalnds. Does anyone know of the best place in the caribbean to make this purchase? I would love to go on another trip, the savings would pay for it. |

$13,400 is MSRP for a TT Sub.. You can almost always get a discount at most Dealers, and you can get them from legitimate Grey Dealers all day long for less than your Cayman price..
Don't forget, you also have to pay duty on your purchase when you bring it back into the US..

Just buy in Florida. Dealing with the customs duty is a hassle and you won't come out ahead. Trying to cheat customs is a bad idea too.

Well, there are plenty of legitimate grey dealers here who are trustworthy and have plenty of references. You will definitely save tons more by buying from them through this forum. But if you must buy from an AD, then that's totally your choice.
