Help with identification and service

just been given this Rolex Air king, i think its a genuine article because previous owner has had a for years and years.
its in quite poor condition and i would like to learn as much about it as possible if anyone could help with year, model etc
Then if anyone has any suggestions as the best way forward to get it serviced and looking as good as possible, i will keep this as it has great sentimental value to me.

Probably a 70's era..

There are model and serial numbers against the case under the bracelet that will help us zero in on things more precisely..

Your Rolex Service Center can to an excellent job of servicing and making this watch look very much like new for around 600USD.. There are certainly other independent watchmakers who can do a very good job too.

Looks like the bracelet is on it's last legs.. a new bracelet can be had during service for around 800USD..

You have some options - -

To conserve immediate expenses, maybe put the watch on a strap for a few pounds, then have it serviced.

You can begin a search for a good used bracelet to save money after you get it back.
