Is this true?
I just read that Omega vs. ROLEX Sub article to find this statement:
"The cyclops date magnifier is an acquired taste, although most authorized dealers are willing to remove them at the client's discretion.".. I found this surprising. My AD would not do this - as I considered it for a moment on my Explorer II. He 'might-have' replaced the crystal with a non-cyclops version - but would certainly not remove it from the factory crystal. Has anyone found an AD who will actually remove the cyclops 'at your discretion'? Thanks. |

Not sure on a AD doing it but there was a thread on here somewhere which explains how to do it yourself.
Seems like a simple process if your careful. Obviously at service they will add yours back on or charge you to get it back to shop state. I like my cyclops. Each to their own, good luck.

I suppose I should have clarified my question: Has anyone found or heard of a ROLEX AD who would remove the cyclops for you? I have never found (or heard of) a ROLEX AD who would do this - thus I believe that the author of that statement is wrong. Purely curious. Thanks. |
