Secondly, spy shot on a recent flight... can someone identify? Looked like a tortoise shell bezel but I don't know anything really.

Ah hahaha... I couldn't tell what the heck it was, I am very much a neophyte (hence my name).

I met someone from AP many years ago as our paths crossed from dissimilar fields but both involving artistry and workmanship, and I liked and admired what I heard about the company. I told myself then if I ever got to buying a fine watch I would buy an AP, and just one that I liked.

This model really appealed to me so I got it. I don't know much, just respect what it takes to make such a miraculous small machine and also make it beautiful.
