Humble apologies from all of us.....but I'm 100% sure it was not meant as anything personal to any of you wonderful ladies whom we would like to treat with utmost respect and admiration.

Yes, it wasn't in very good form and perhaps not in keeping with the wonderful decorum of this forum.....

The women did not appreciate this at all. I thought it was very offensive to them too.

I also want to offer my apologies to them on behalf of the guys.

It was a little crude and really not funny. But women should not take such self righteous offense to ignorant comments made against them. Really girls, get a grip and toughen up. The old notion that you can't pick on the girl should not be part of the emotional repetoire of a self reliant person in 2008. PC is BS.

Well, Allan...it wasn't like only ONE of the ladies took objection. It was at least THREE of them.....and could possibly have been more, but they did not post.

We do need to respect them in all fairness. They have as much right to be on this forum as we do.....so let's just keep this all nice and friendly!!

Thank you - JJ

Thank you JJ and Jerome. Personally I appreciate the apologies.

I think the ladies here have proven that we all have a great sense of humor....there are just some jokes that go a bit far. We're all here to have fun and share our passion, with respect for one another's opinions. What one finds funny, another may not....

The point being, we all have a right to speak our minds.

Choose your words carefully.... "self righteous" offense? It's not self righteous to respond that we don't like a bad joke.

I can take a joke and can dish it out, too - but this one was just exceptionally in poor taste. And not funny to me.

OK Lisa. But if one person, man or woman, posts one joke that offends me in any way, my male machismo hormones are going to get out of control in the future.

For the record, mine was the first original comment condemning this 'joke' and I stand by my original sentiments.

duly noted Pat wahahahahaha

anyway,

guess what piss us ladies off more is that Floridadogg thinks that we are not allowed to be put off by crude comments.

i would say that it is one thing to unintentionally posting a joke which piss off someone and quite another to say that we have no right to be put off.

its a free world in the forum and i feel that everyone should respect everyone.

Lighten up folks. I merely make the point that women get outraged over anything and men must grovel to their sensitivities. It is a double standard. I agree with Lisa. the joke was rotten..........it says more about the original poster than anything else.

On the flip side, if I made a crack that unintentionally offended you, I would apologize. It happens! I believe you are turning this into a bigger issue than it really is.
