The Vintage Adventure...

It all started when I felt - bored - of all the current available models, from many brands. Though I haven't own MANY of the watches offered today, but I feel content with what I have.

However, having what I have, is always not enough - somehow. I know most of you crazy watch owners are the same. Content, but never enough hahaha...

And with numerous brands, starting from Panerai, Tudor, Heuer, Bell n Ross, you name it, releasing "vintage" inspired time pieces, to me - they are well, vintage wannabes, and can never be a true vintage no matter what.

IMHO vintage is exclusively for an item, aged gracefully with time and wear. And nothing in this world can truly replicate it. It's just like a vintage painting, you can copy it, but you can never have it the same. Sure you can have some parts being repaired and all, I'm not a purists when it comes down to vintage watches, if it's neccessary to make it better, or to make it look nicer, then I don't mind at all.

So, I acquired a headonly vintage 5513 not so long ago. And it became my most favorite possession. I wear it day-in, day-out, and even my wife said, you never take it off! And never did I take it off indeed. It has an aura that I really love, it's very subtle, it's unique, and perhaps, many modern people will think "its fake". I know some years back, I would, because I have never seen a rolex with golden caramel lume and gilt writings before. Nor have I ever worn it with NATOs and straps etc.

I like it.

But now, it's time to have it rotated! It's time to make way... for yet...

Another....

Vintage....

So here it comes, I have always been obsessed to find one in a very good condition... and finally...

Obligatory wrist shot!

But, to spice things up, I got my 5513 a spanking brand new "vintage" strap!

And here's a picture of them both!

I have to say I love the vintage look of the bezel insert....you made a great choice there. Two great iconic watches, enjoy them both.

WOW stunning beauty you have there. Your bezel must be my favorite among all of the ones i have seen. IMO it has faded to the perfect shade of pepsi . enjoy it!

Thanks guys!

And the bezel is the deal maker for me actually! I wish the bottom part faded a little too like the blue. Makes you wonder why the blue fades sooner huh? Lol

No doubt - it is easy to get bitten by the vintage Rolex bug! Now have 1680 and 5513, and looking for 1675 or 16750!

Very nice pieces. Great condition as well. Maybe not as popular around here but I really like the GMT on a leather strap. It's incredibly becoming.

Beautiful watches ! Possible to share where you bought the strap for the 5513 ? It really looks very nice on the watch.
Again, congrats, great watches!

Someone locale made it. It resembles the Tudor Blackbay Strap somewhat, but softer. I could help you send it over if you are interested. Shoot me a PM.
