It's in immaculate condition.

The bezel is pristine.

Works fine.

Head only.

A nice condition turn-o-graph would definitely be worth that and more.

but... if any parts are not original (service or aftermarket) the price should drop by A LOT. As with any Rolex sports model from the early 1950s, check 1) all hands, 2) dial, 3) bezel insert, 4) bezel, 5) how polished is the case, 6) pitting on the case, 7) how crisp/clear are the numbers, 8) wear to the lugs, 9) wear to the spring bar holes, .....

All hands in top condition, patina lume, slight corrosion (negligible)

2) dial

Perfect dial with tropical turning potential

3) bezel insert

Best I have ever seen for a 50s watch

4) bezel

Tip top, sharp edges, no dings

5) how polished is the case

Some polished marks, but thick and well maintained

6) pitting on the case

Slight, almost negligible.

7) how crisp/clear are the numbers

As crisp as your potato chip

8) wear to the lugs
Boy - it's thick

9) wear to the spring bar holes
Now this I didn't check!

Sounds like a nice one, but there is just no way to evaluate without pics. As was remarked by Vlad, an original one, in the condition described, would be a very good deal indeed at that price. However, one thing off/not original, and not a good deal at all.

Yea I would have to get a more detailed and original pic of it. However Im a bit put iff due to the size. It looks tiny!!

If you are after size, I think the mod refs 1680 and 1665 are both: well-proportioned, bold and stunning. No regrets.

Please be aware of one thing: the devil is in the details. And the wrong detail will cost you dearly.

Those watches are tiny. I tried one on once and it was puny on the wrist. Go with a 1680 or 1665 for the money. But, just my humble opinion.

A sound choice but be wary, since there are lots of frankens and fakes. Do not just pick up anything, you see. Excellent vintage-watch but not easy to get an authentic piece.
