Advise on 15400 size

Hi ,

Just wanted some advise regarding the size of 15400.
Currently have bumble bee on diver strap and that works well for me.
But the RO would be more office / semi formal watch for me.

My wrist size is only 6 1/2 inches and fairly flat and due fact that can't get like new 15300 at decent price I'm thinking just getting the white 15400 instead.

I tried it on at AD but with the bracelet not been adjusted it hard to tell. Also may be just in my mind but the black dial looks like better fit but only interested in the white as have alot black faced watches already.

Just to add I also have IWC 5001 auto which fits ok my thoughts is that 41mm should wear about the same.

Any advise would be welcome

many thanks

Anish

I have a 6.75" wrist and it fits me nicely with some room to spare. So I think it should be OK for you, esp you have a flat wrist.

15400 should fit your wrist just perfect. Can't wait to see it--GREAT watch!

The 15400 fits ok on my 6.5" wrist. Luckily I already have a 15300 so am not tempted by one.

Mike I'm finally off loading the PAM 312 to get 15400 , will just leave with the PAM 233.

Need place order and will coming from new york so should arrive in the next 10 days , will keep you posted. Looks like favouring the white dial :-)

thanks all your help

I went the exact same route and couldn't be happier with my 233 and 15300.

I'd look for a 15300 or used 15202. I have similar sized wrists, and the 15400 looks too big, imo.

15400 fits fine on my 6.75 inch wrist.
Here's a comparo with a 40mm Subc.

I understand the dilemma as I was in the same position as you.
In the end, just follow your heart.

If you have flat wrists and can wear the Bee then the 400 should be fine.

Only one thing wrong with Neil's statement... everyone can wear the Bee!

yeap I love my Bee , but Hanz looking at your Sub C shot I think I should be ok as my Sub wears like yours.
Guess just be white dial that may make look bigger.

Ben - Really want seconds hand on my next AP and getting 15400 at really great price when compared to used 15300. Only wish I bought 15300 in harrods sale in london back in Jan 2012 ....

Here is a comparison pic with my Daytona. The Daytona wears small compared to my GMT and the black face makes it look even smaller. I think the AP 15400 is a great size.

15300 is the more classic size.
15400 is for people with large wrists in my opinion.
It will look good either way but 15300 will be better.

If you want the 400 Id recommend Wightswatches, best AP dealer in UK. For the 300 theres this seller on ebay. You can go see the watch first before you buy.

I was wondering where you were Charles

Your wrist shots of 15400 really show how perfect the size is on that AP

thanks guys , think I've made my mind up.
Just had one more question really , I heard that dials for 15400 are made in house infact all the RO model dials from 2012 are now made in house. I know on the jumbo and certainly on the blue dials there have been QC issues.
For people that owned both the white 15300 and 15400 owners have notice any differences with the dials.
thanks

Thanks, Paul! This watch is starting to steal all the wrist time from the others in my collection. It is so versatile and classic...I am thrilled with it.

The 15400 RO is very much like your new 911 (991 4S). It is a wonderful evolution of a timeless classic and so much more than the sum of its parts.

Love the comparison to 911 , I bought the 996 C4S around 10 years and to this date I don't think the 997 or even the current 991 S models looks visual as good as non S models like 996 C4S did , clearly the current 991 is much better car :-)
Ordered the white 15400 and should have within week or so
Thanks for everyone help

Ben and I have similar sized wrists. They both are stunning pieces and would work well for you. With that said, when I tried the side by side, I felt the 15300 felt more natural to me so I'm agreeing with Ben on this one.

I have 44mm and 47mm PAM's in my collection too so I'm calibrated for larger cases. Even with that, the 15300 was a beautiful fit and is playing the role of my business / dress piece today.
