I have an omega speedmaster that I'd like to open up. The watch is a relatively new model 3513.13 and has a completely smooth back. What type of tool do I need to open it?
I'm familiar with opening other watches that have the slots in the back for the opener tool to grip. This watch has no such grooves. Any thoughts? |

That model I understand has a pop on back....a knife usually at the corner under a lug should pop it off.

hmm, any advice for doing that without scratching the watch? Seems like it would be pretty easy to scratch doing that. Also does the back just snap back in place?

Mask the area around the case and caseback.
Another thing to consider is possibly leaving the case on.

I would very much like to advise against it. If there's something wrong with the watch bring it to a watchmaker. If you touch the o-ring you need to replace it.

Okay, so you dont know how to open this particular watch back. What could you accomplish after having opened it, as opening the watch is the easiest part.
Be careful, I wouldnt want you to damage your lovely watch. Just my 0.02
