GMTIIC TT or Daytona??
Hello I am in the market for another timepiece. I am interested in either the white dial Daytona or the TT GMTIIC. I have already owned the GMTIIC, however have since flipped it. I was looking for everyones thoughts as to which they prefer and why. I am 50/50 on both. I currently have an AP Diver, Ap 15300, and EXI (39mm) Thanks all!

Damnit - I was just going to make this very post. The difference for me is I do not own a watch and this will be my first Rolex. I feel like skipping the GMT and going straight to the Daytona is almost cheating in a sense.

I don't like TT, so I will pick Daytona between these two.

I'd go GMT but in SS or solid gold. Not a fan of TT.
Daytona is a cool piece but wears small to me. |

Alex, I also own both and they are very different watches. Since you had and flipped the GMTIIc I would say, go for the Daytona.

The TT GMT is a sharp looking watch and even better in person. But, I would be a bit hesitant since you had the SS version and flipped it. Did you try both on? I like the Daytona, but a date function is a must-have for me.

Daytona all the way!
You had the GMT II before, try something new! I think you're a Daytona person... Waiting for Pics. |

Because you've had a GMT2C before, I would suggest Daytona purely because you flipped it for a reason. If it was your one and only watch, I would probably lean more towards the TTGMT2C because it has more functions you'll use in every day life.
Don't listen to the TT nay-sayers, the GMT2 looks great in TT (and I'm normally not a fan of TT) |

do you want to use a chrono or use 3 time zones? if its not that and its down to aesthetics then only you can tell which one your heart desires, both great and both expensive purchases.

I'm sensing that you want to add a little bit of YG to the mix?
If so IMO the GMT TT is one fine looking watch and I think the best looking Rolex TT.

GMT gets my vote, though I would be curious to know why you flipped it the first time around.

I say TT GMT, a bit more unusual. I spotted three SS Daytonas yesterday alone.

If it were for me, I'd choose the GMT.
I'm not usually a fan of TT, but I'd still go this route mainly because of the functions. I like a watch with a date and the rotating bezel with 24 hour hand trumps the chronograph for my purposes. I also find the GMT dial more legible and less cluttered than the Daytona. In your position, the fact that you have previously flipped the SS GMT IIc is a significant confounding variable. You might need to ask yourself why you did that? Was it a reluctant parting? Was there something in particular that didn't agree with you that mixing it with some gold now would ameliorate? Maybe for you the Daytona is the fresh change you've been looking for? |

since you are considering the TT GMTIIc, i'm assuming you are okay with TT.
IMHO, the TTGMTIIc is the best rolex TT sports watch out there, bar none. plus, with your collection, you could use some color. you've already got three classics. ![]() |
