Versatility

I'm looking to get my first Rolex in a few months and was wondering which one of these is more versatile: 116613 blue dial, or the classic 116610LN. Thanks in advance.

I would think that the black would be more versatile. Or if you really want it in gold, you can try the two tone version with a black dial/bezel.

I have the black and think its very versatile...I wear it with a suit or shorts and a t shirt..the blue dial looks great though so you really can't go wrong either way. Please share pics when you decide.

I would wear the TT blue with everything from pajamas to a suit, but I don’t care for the black subs. Where do you intend to use the watch most in the office or for leisure? I tend to use my DSSD mostly when I am in gym clothes or swimming but I would have no issue wearing that with a suit as well. I have to say the TT has been on my list for some time and keeps getting moved down as something else comes along and I always regret not getting one which is why I am shopping around for one now.

The Sub LN would be more versatile than the TT in blue. It's also quite common. But if you are a bit on the errrr....older side, maybe the TT would be more to your liking, IMHO.

If you are a guy that is in a lot of formal wear, I would lean toward the black. Having said that, the TT blue sub is one of my favorite watches; a real beauty. You can't go wrong, really.

I'd go with the blue dial. It's versatile with suits and jeans IMO.

Based on versatility alone, it's the SS LN.
Both can be worn well with just about anything, so just go with what you like best.

what you like best is always the most versatile.

also, in case you didn't know, the 116613's dial was changed at this year's basel show from the flat blue to the more old school sunburst blue. i'm not sure when the newer dial will be hitting the ADs.

I kind of think they are both equally "versatile."

To me, they can both be worn in the the same variety of situations and not be out of place (or be equally out of place, eg, depending on your opinion about wearing dive watches with suits ).

I believe it comes down more to do with personal style and what you think reflects this better. Go with what you are comfortable with. Just my $0.02.

Another vote here for the black in either TT or SS.
The blue is great but black goes with everything.

X2

Got both and I always think about what I'm wearing with the TT, not so with the Black, it just works with everything.
