What do you think of this Date Just with a Brown or Black Strap ?

Hello Guys,

I am really opening up to owning a dressier Rolex and I really love this datejust with the white dial and roman lettering in gold. However I dont want a bracelet would you think this watch could pull of a black alligator strap or a brown strap ?

I am just thinking out loud.

Your thoughts

Can you get that dial on a SS datejust ?

No question. Brown, everyday. Black, dressy. I take my DD bracelet off and swap for alligator sometimes. Looks great.

Wont the Gold link under the bezel interfere with the look ?

Does anyone have a similar looking example ?

There won't be a gold end-link there because the leather strap will require its removal. You can have custom links made but really not necessary...

Here's an example of how it looks

It's such a stunning reference as it is! And yes, that dial is offered on the SS version. I have the combo in SS/WG.

Could you post a pic, if its in SS I would prefer it. I am not a fan of gold or two tone watches.

Get yourself a curved end strap or the Etur end links to eliminate 'the gap' to make the Datejust look properly finished if mounting on a strap. Check out the Rolex catalogs and that's how DJ's and DD's are sent from the factory on leather.
