Fair Price for used Daytona from a member, but UNDATED on the card???
Hi guys, i just needs your help for your knowledges. i wa about to put the trigger on used Daytona with a fair price, named on the warranty card, but "UNDATED".
Afaik, undated is no value? can you get the watch for service with undated warranty card if the watch is still under factory warranty (since member mentioned it purchased brand new a couple months ago)??? Advices/opinions/thoughts, friends......

Is there a reason you aren't discussing this directly with the seller?

Thanh, what exactly is your concern - authenticity?, price?, seller character, or is it that you are insecure about this purchase? I'm afraid your question is rather broad.
Good luck to you! |

You can always get an authentic Rolex serviced whether you have a warranty card or not... What you cannot do, without a valid warranty, is get free warranty related work done.. You have to decide what value to you this would be..

i'm asking for the helps cause for some reason the seller doesn't want go to Rolex AD (the place he bought it brand new from) to let them put the date when purchased it for me . and i'm thinking that can i be able to write down the date on the warranty card my self after get it. So if the watch is already out of the warranty, so it doesn't matter right?

i'm confused too since he said the watch just purchased brand new a couple months ago by him, but he doesn't want to take it to Rolex AD to put the date when purchased on the card????

My AD told me that the warranty is not activate unless they dated it. I made purchased from 3AD before, they all dated the warranty card. None of them allow me to have an open warranty card.
Sounds like a scam |

Is the seller also providing the proper invoice that shows the watch was purchased from this Authorized Dealer ? If so, the warranty card and the sales invoice could be used if you needed warranty work to "prove" that it was purchased properly from an Authorized Dealer.. However, if I was trying to buy a used watch, this one seems like too much trouble to mess with, with so many others available on the market..

if its not a gray/grey market watch, you can find out the date of sale with the ser# OR just call the ad he/she got it from and find out. you can even get he/she to do it for you. if he/she objects, walk away. simple as that i would imagine.

What an awkward situation
I don't see, first of all, how that watch could leave the AD "a few months ago" when he supposedly bought it... I dont care about the fact if he is on TRF as a (trusted) seller or not, I would walk away from it! Having that said, he should know that especially here on TRF people are more aware and conscious about these things. Good luck! |

I would be very careful. From what I know, no AD will EVER sell without dating it. The only way you can get an undated watch is if it's stolen (and I would love to know how they grabbed the box and card too?). It could also have been a careless salesman or someone who knows someone at an AD that did them a favour, if this is the case, they're running the risk of losing their AD status.

Sounds like a scam. First of all is it a random serial#? If not what is the first letter of ser#. Be careful if it sounds to good for you it's not for you. Another important fact to remember is if the watch is a stolen piece and was reported by the Ad to the insurance co and Rolex and you send it to Rolex for a repair or service they will hand it over to the authorities and you will have another problem to deal with.

Price must be very good in order to make you think this hard. If it is too good to be true, 99% of the times, it is.

I recently bought DJ for wife as gift, AD suggested we not date warranty card until I know she will keep it and not return or exchange.
However, in OP.'s situation I would walk away. Any questions is not worth risk. |

If seller won't go back to AD to get the warranty card dated, I would say no to this deal.
Something is wrong here. |

i just asked the seller about the copy receipt of the purchased again. and he said it has his personal info in there, so he would not give it to me. and he also mentioned that some grey market/someone else will get it and just put the date on it and re-sell for more, then how can i know??? and he also said that a lot of members just put the date and the name on the open warranty card, so how can i know/care when we all have the flipping disease??? i couldn't believe that those things/thoughts came from a great member here and on another watches forums......
