Which leather strap for datejust
So ive decided im going to get a leather strap to keep the current bracelet on the watch in the best condition I can
I have selected the following options A - buy the rolex buckle below take it to a shop and have it fitted on a strap in a watch shop one that I can feel on before purchasing http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3906117921...84.m1423.l2648 B - buy this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2212334102...84.m1423.l2649 C- buy this which is a 18mm strap so 2mm will be spare but much cheaper , I dont think I could live with the gap though: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2612358517...84.m1423.l2649 D buy this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2512841154...84.m1423.l2649 Im favouring the red lizard but would like to hear peoples opinions before I do anything the watch below is the one its going on to |

I much prefer to install a deployant on whichever strap I use. It can save some nasty drops when you're trying to put your watch back on after washing hands, etc. You can find some very nice lizard and croc straps for under $100, so there is little reason to buy an 18mm strap for a 20mm set of lugs. A 2mm gap is very noticeable on a DJ.

The thing to do is have a genuine buckle not a replica. It does create some difficulty finding 20mm lug width straps that taper to the correct 18mm buckle end.
Can't comment on color choices as that is so personal.
