Grail or not?

Found this unfortunately badly relumed baby ! Serial 506.000 and ref 7928.

From the info on hand how true can the dial and hands be?

Can I fit a superdome ? Any sources?

It is beaten up but winds smoothly and keeps good time. The mechanism is not a haking one. (When I pull the crown it keeps going)

That's all I got. The price is dead cheap less than 1600 usd what should I do ?

Thinking of servicing and cleaning only plus all gaskets to be changed so it will be ok in water.

Any suggestions, all help would be very much appreciated !!!

The dial looks funny to me other than being relumed. Hard to see from that pic though. As for grail or not? Not in my book. No relumed watch will ever be a grail. I would pass if it were me but we all have different standards and taste.

I have shared all the info I have available, other than that the price and the fact that it was forgotten in the shop for a long time caught my eye.

The grail part refers to the price vs the item.

I could not find a dial that would match the picture and that makes me cautious!

Other than that it could become a daily beater for the price at stake, but would not want to spend a dime in a franken watch! I am stuck! :)

Never heard of grail referring to price but for me I would save my money and put it towards a special piece in the future. JMHO....Cheers,

maybe depends on the pictures but ...

case and lugs look a little " too big " ......
so with a badly reprinted dial ... I would take a lot of care ...

Short of a very cheap price, I would not touch it without better pics.

Looks funky beyond the dial.

Mine looks way better and turned out to be 100% faux. Be extremely careful!

Dial looks slightly rotated anti-clockwise.

I have a Tudor Rose 7928 and my dial is different to that.

mine says "200m 660ft SUBMARINER ROTOR SELF WINDING".

that also looks off at the top. Between the 12 plot and TUDOR I have the Rose. I cannot see a rose in your pic.

sorry I can't post pics from my current location but I would be very careful.

If you search TRF you should be able to find some better pics of the Tudor Subs. I started a thread (I dont know how to post it) but it was titled "Tudor Sub - Snowflake or Rose" I think.

Hope this helps
