Leather, NATO, Zulu, canvas, homemade... if you have pictures of Submariners on straps, please post them!

I'm considering playing around with new shoes.

(I searched, but found only a thread involving just leather straps on all Rolex models.)

Do you find that leather straps/NATOs are too thick to push through the lug-pin space? I have a very thin leather NATO that I cannot fit on my 14060M.

Are the spring bars on the ND Sub 14060M much bigger than the common watches? The relatively thin NATO strap I have doesn't fit through the lug space and spring bar, for some reason.

Grumpy Badger, do you find the it to be a very tight fit?

I'm no expert but the 14060m was the last to still have lug holes so the springbar is different from other modern models but I don't know if it's thicker.

Both of the straps I pictured are on the thin side and I can thread them through without taking the spring bars out.
With my other NATOs I have to pop at least one side for the spring bar to give me enough space to get the strap on. You can see the courser weave on this OD strap...

Ken and I have deliberately chosen 18mm straps exposing the spring bars with our bond straps as a homage to the shot in Thunderball when Connery is shown with a similar one and my grey strap is 18mm because that's what my friend the RQMS gave me!

Not a strap guy but I love how the older Subs look on straps.
