Just left the AD..

I just got back from one of my local AD's. Saw the usual people I deal with and was looking for my next watch the new GMT BLNR aka Batman. I asked about it and they have not seen one and have a waiting list. Half of me is glad because I have not saved enough yet. I asked her about a discount just to cover the tax cost. She said no but would give me a Rolex watch winder that she said is worth $1000? Is that true? I have never seen one.

I would find that super hard to believe.

I have seen Rolex winders, they run about £400 here in the UK.

Wait. The hype will taper off and prices will calm down (i.e., they will offer a bit of discount). However, there may be a price increase in the meantime!
One thing is for sure, don't buy it above MRSP, and don't settle on price just because they throw some "candies" in the deal...

Back to the topic of going to the AD to see the new Black/Blue GMT, that is what possessed me just today to seek out a new AD to visit and try to see one in person.

He says they have not gotten one at all over any of their 5 stores that carry Rolex. So let's keep waiting.

I looked at one of the new GMT "blue tones" the other day and it is quite nice. The price is getting a little steep for the these new models.

The "Rolex" watch winder msrp was $795 last time I checked. It has the Rolex jubilee style pattern. If I recall Rolex has some company they partner with that makes these.

Tell her if she is willing to give you the winder, then she should be willing to discount the watch at least in the amount of her cost on the winder. if she wont do that, then the AD probably received the winder at no cost to them.

You should let her know the GMT is an automatic, and that you really dont need the darn winder!
