This thread by Marko (Reckel) also shows how nicely a DD can be refurbished (page 3 reveils the results).

I have serviced 5x at the RSC in NYC for Tudor (Chrono circa 1986) and Rolex (GMT-II circa 1994).
My father has serviced many times back to the 1980s.

Each time the watches came back absolutely flawless.
My latest GMT-II service was just under USD1000, because I requested the latest face, & hands. I was tired of it not glowing anymore (Tritium). Purist hate that move (and several did not buy my watch because of this), but I have these watches to use them, not just look at them. It is a tool, IMHO. And to me if it is not useful it decreased the value. I would never buy a 40 yr old GMT if it did not glow at night like it should, but I suppose many do.

'As new' is the only way I could describe their (RSC NYC) treatment of my timepieces.

I do not have pics. But I recently sold the GMT-II to a TRFer and his words were that the watch 'looks like new'.
He was very pleased with the watch - it was MINT.

Furthermore, I asked them to take extra time to time the movement.
The watch was running approx within 5 seconds every 7 days.
To me that is pretty good.

That is what they do.
Yes it does cost, but you do absolutely get what you pay for.

Was the Tudor service the same price as the Rolex service? I have a mini sub that I'm thinking of having serviced & flipping.

Mullman,
I'd also like to know more about the Tudor chrono service. What was replaced, when it was serviced, ect?
Thanks,
dP

I sent it direct to BH RSC - I liked that better as they communicated directly with me instead of the AD.

I've got two Subs that are due back from the RSC any day now. One is 17 years old the other is 7. Sadly, my camera is pretty crappy, but I'll post what I can. I am hoping what people say is true. That they will look almost brand new.
