Cleaning bands in jewelry cleaner-

-what do I need to know?
I have a GMT-II and Sub, both Z serials. My wife has a good ultrasonic cleaner. Other than removing the bands from the watch is there anything else to worry about?

I used to boil my bracelets before I got a sonic cleaner that would heat up the water.

Veraet Watch Spray. go to there website and grab a kit. you can get the spray, brush and cleaning cloth for under 20 bux. The cleaner is amazing. Non abrasive removes all oils and dirt and leaves it looking like its brand new. The spray smells great too.

Veraet is great. Though it does not replace a good ultra sonic bath for the bracelet.

I regularly ultrasonic mine. Of course remove watch from the bracelet. The grime that comes off is always impressive.

throw some Veraet in the Ultrasonic and your good to go!!!! My watch doesnt get dirty enough to need a ultrasonic. i clean it once a week

It barely fit my 16610 in altered.

It did not fit my 214270.

I have a diamond stone and I gave it 3 strokes on each side (nearly flat). I didn't push hard at all as there isn't a lot of metal here. That was all I needed. Barely anything off.

Personally, I didn't find any need of using ultrasonic at all once I used Veraet cleaner. It does a fantastic job. I use it once or twice a week and have done so for about a year now.

It's the unseen gunk where a cleaner comes in useful. You'd be surprised how much stuff gets in between the links.

I did get the fine model, and it barely (and I mean barely) fit the 16610.

It did not fit the 214270 until I filed it down ever so slightly.

I have to say that ever since I saw your post of that pic of the tooth pic sometime back, I have been using that to take the bracelet off of my sub. I only wish I had thought of that 17 years ago instead of using metal things like screwdrivers and paperclips. I have plenty of little scars around my lug holes. So many in fact that RSC polishing did not really remove them. The wood is indeed the best thing for the watch I think. Thanks for the idea.

Yes but you're only observing the outside of the bracelet....you'd be surprised at how much hidden dirt builds up inside the links where it can prematurely wear out the links and lead to a bracelet stretching before its time.

...and then, in a glass with warm water and some dish washing liquid, and you get this the next morning.

And is all clean, inside-out, as dirst is soaked fully and due to capilary tube principle some soap lube remains in the links.

You could also get the Bergeon 6767-F to remove the bracelet. It is a lot cheaper.

Takes a few times to get used to - but once you get a hang of it, its easy!

Just make sure to use painters tape on the underside of the lugs to avoid scratches the first few times you try it.
