Service & shipping
just wondering if anyone has shipped a watch out for servicing, and had a bad experience like a lost package or damaged package ?

Which companies follow through on insurance, and how do you prove what you said was in the package was in the package? Do people take a video of themselves packing it up or something (or take it to the FedEx store and have them package it)?

I once had to pay like $150 extra to get about $18k insurance with FedEx for a watch. I would imagine paying the premium suffices. May not matter what's in there, as long as you're willing to pay to protect it.

I use ParcelPro/FedEx and video the packing of the box for proof along with a pic of box at drop off. Thankfully I've never had to file a claim with PP.

No, I have FedEx envelopes at home. I get everything set, turn on the camera, package everything, then I drop off at FedEx, and take pictures of box with receipt. The movie/pictures are overkill but it's added peace of mind for me.

I use Parcelpro/fedex as well. never had a problem great prices great customer service.
as long as you pay for the insurance it shouldnt matter if you have a video pics ect. The important part is you go to a fedex shipping center or a fedex kinkos and have them scan in the package in front of you and make sure you get the drop off receipt. This is crucial if a claim needs to be filed. do not ship it with authorized 3rd party stores only fedex staffed locations. pack the watch at home and do not discuss the contents of the package with anyone. Most thefts occur in the stores themselves. Whatever method you use I would suggest printing the label at home and packing the watch at home. |

+1
remember parcel pro insurance only covers theft/loss from the time its signed off to when the delivery is signed for. you can double box the shipment in two fedex boxes and cover the edges with tamper evident tape do not declare a high value on the fedex box or insure through fedex. thats asking for trouble |
