Stolen Air King w/ Circle Bar Drilling Logo

Hi. I was recently encouraged to bring my search for my stolen Rolex Air King to some Rolex forums in hopes my beloved watch might be returned to me someday.

It was stolen from my home during a burglary in October of 2010 and today was the closest I've come to getting it back. I found a used Rolex retailer in Huntington Beach, CA selling one that looked exactly like mine, but the serial numbers didn't match. The kind gentleman at the store encouraged me to use the Rolex forums to get the word out.

I realize it's probably a massive long shot that I'll ever get my watch back, but I thought I'd try. Please have a look at the attached photo. My watch looks exactly like this one...with the same Circle Bar Drilling logo.

First three digits of the serial number: 627

If you have any information about a watch that looks like the one pictured, please contact me through this forum. Thank you for your time.

That truly sucks man. One could only hope that you and your family weren't home, and all they got were objects. That being said, good luck on your search, hope you get it back!

Have you notified Rolex? If it shows up for a service it will be flagged.

Definitely notify Rolex. I'll keep an eye out if it ever makes it to Hawaii. Good luck!

Notify Rolex by all means and they will circulate the serial throughout their service centers worldwide. A fellow watch forumer was able to recover a Submariner lost in Manila but recovered in a Rolex service center in Hong Kong. It was a long process but if you have the papers/certificate with you and the watch was registered to your name, it should help a lot.

I presume you thought your watch was this one until the s/n didn't match? I would buy that one from Bob and then if you do find your original one, you could sell Bob's on eBay, CL, etc...

This seems to be a great idea.

I always keep a bit of an eye out for logo Air Kings, and I don't think I can remember ever seeing a Circle Bar Drilling one for sale.

The fact that there is one for sale right now, also in Southern California, also in the 6.2 million serial range must've toyed with your emotions a bit! If it's within reach for you to do so, I second the suggestion of picking that one up.

Many logo Air Kings have engravings on the back. Did yours have an inscription perchance? Of course it could have been polished off long ago at this point. Good luck!

Welcome to TRF. Sorry to hear about your loss. I agree with those who said to contact and inform Rolex about the situation. Did you have a home owners insurance policy or have the watch insured? Good luck, I really hope you are able to find it.

You don't see many Circle Bar logos out there. I've seen maybe 5 over the years. The Pool Intairdrill (erroneous pan am dial), Pizza Hut, and Winn Dixie seem to be the most common. I have a small collection of AK logo dial images. I think I've indexed most of them. I'm sure there are several I haven't though
