How to decide between two seemingly identical DSSD 116660s?
Well guys, this will be my first post here. I have loved Rolex's for a while, but this will be my first Rolex purchase.
I love the dive watches, and in looking at the SubC, GMTII, and DSSD, I think have settled on the DSSD (I'll add the others as time goes on!). If an AD has 2 of them, and they are seemingly identical in every way, how do you decide which to purchase? There appears to be no difference to the naked eye, and I now know from reading here that the serial number means nothing. I'm guessing that it really doesn't matter and I should just flip a coin, but thought I'd check with the experts first. Any help?! Thanks! -David |

Do a little homework on the AD's customer service and consider that along with the pricing. Good luck an congrats on your decision to buy a DSSD.

Yes, both BNIB. Thanks for confirming this.
Looking forward to it! It'll be a strictly casual watch as it is quite large for me, doesn't fit over a shirt cuff well, and I have a relatively small wrist at 6.75" (I know many on here would say this watch is too large for me!). |

I dont think there are DSSDs with random Serial numbers yet.... But then again I could be wrong on this one...

If they were both on display I would look carefully at booth to make sure there are not any scratches and choose based on that. If they are both in the safe and fully packaged, than I would just close my eyes and choose one.

Get the one that has not been in the display case if available? Sometimes they will still have one in the "coffin".

I very rarely see more than one of the same model in the display case... Unless they have more in the back.. In which case, I'd choose the one in the back, primarily because it is brand new and has been untouched and or scratched in any way.

when i bought my DS, the dealer show me a brand new one with all stickers attached and all, i say yes i will take it. when he was going to ring in the sale, i say wait, do you have one that is like brand brand new, like not on display? AD say, let me check my vault, and came out with brand new one without anyone ever trying it on, so i took that one instead. nothing wrong with one brand new on display, but when you have a choice why not.

Like others have said take the one that has a the protective stickers and not on display. He wouldn't have two of the same on display. For what reason. Good luck and wear it the heck out of it . Great watch !
