Possible purchase?

Hello,

I recently decided I want to purchase myself a gift and decided on a Rolex. There are 2 models I like, the first is the green on green submariner, or the black/blue black face GMT II. Which is better, and why? Also, I am considering second hand, how do you know who to trust?

Both are excellent watches. Which is "better" can only be answered by you. Do you need a GMT function? Do you require significant water resistance? Visit your AD and try them on.

As for 'who to trust', check out the "who's who" section. Spend some time doing research on TRF and you'll find all your answers.

It'll be tough to get a used black/blue GMT. They are a brand new release. Unless you get super lucky, I would think about 3-5 months and you will see them coming up used.

Better? Neither is better. Both great. Enjoy the search.

Trust no one.

Buy the seller first.

Agreed with kilyung. Only you can really decide which is "better" for you. Great suggestion is to go to an AD and try both on to see how they feel on your wrist.

BLNR GMT pre-owned will be tough to find as it is a Basel 2013 release. So if that is your favorite, then you should wait a few months. But if you want the LVc, then there are plenty on the classified section...and plenty of trusted sellers on the Whos Who section....good luck.

My advice would be to take your time and visit several of the authorized dealers (ADs) in your area and try on as many of the models as you can. Stand in front of the mirror and see what looks good on your wrist and what you feel comfortable with. As time goes on, one will sing to you and then you will know it is the right watch. I don't think there is a wrong choice. After you ultimately decide on the Rolex model you can then start shopping around for the best price. Purchasing on here from a trusted seller will save you some money but going through an AD also has some advantages. Good luck!

That one that is for you will become apparent once you start trying them on. Good luck

I think both are excellent choice. Either one won't go wrong.
The final decision is really all up to your personal preference.

The best thing I did was take someone with me to try watches on, if I hadn't I would have purchased the wrong watch! My daughter could tell I wasn't 100% happy with the omega and said leave it dad, go home and think about. I did and decided the gmt was the one!!! Best decision I've made for a good while.

As you already know, it really is up to what makes you happiest while on your wrist. My choice would be the Black/Blue GMT. I think it is stunning.

A sub LVc is less blingy and more classic.
Blnr is the sh** and flashy and more blingy
Up to your taste.

I am not sure I can agree. Both are fairly loud. A black sub, then yeah more classic less in your face. But the LVc and BLNR...both are going to garnish attention imho. Either way you cannot go wrong. Both fun rolex which are suitable to any occasion and will always be fitting to the moment.

If it was me, I would get the green hulk just because I have a few black dial watches, BUT.... I know I want the bk/bl GMT as well so I'll wait until it hits the use market. Cheers"

Got to try them both on. One will let you know.
They make a great pair. I say LVC, then GMT.

Both great pieces and you can't go wrong with either one but what color scheme do you like best and do you have other watches already?

Better? What's your definition?

Both great watches. You probably will be able to score a better deal on the Lvc, at least until all the BLNR hype dies down, if that makes a difference.

Both are great watches. I'd go with the new GMT II over the Hulk any day..
