A present for Daren

I was watching the weather network this morning (it's -17C here today) and it showed that the jet stream has dipped waaaaay down South for the day, and that Dallas Texas is supposed to be going down to 0C (32F for the "celcius challenged").

That's just us Canadians sending you a present of some cold arctic air.......I'd just like to say, "you're welcome."

And no duffing today... we don't want you to experience that sting of when your club hits frozen turf.

Funny, I'm walking from the transit stop to my office, my jacket open from the neck up and no hat, and a woman passes (I think it was a woman) in a full length (to the ankle) goose-down parka, hood up, neoprene face-mask, scarf and ski goggles.

That always makes me LOL when I see people that bundled up.

I do want to thank you tossers for sending us your frozen waste air. You don't know how good I feel having to put on all the layers I need to walk around outside. And I am so looking forward to tonight's predicted sleet and snow you have for us. It's fun to be sledding downhill in my car when I'm trying to face uphill and get to the top instead of the bottom.

LMAO, I'm SO Canadian, that when I first read "It is 17 right now" I though, 'hmm, that's totally shorts weather' then I realized, 17F!

Damn, D, I would have never thought it would get that cold in Dallas.

The one good thing about this weather, because the ground is warmer than the air, there's a lot of fog, and the fog freezes on the trees, encasing them in a white coating, making it very picturesque.

I just took the garbage out and the driveway could be the site for a shinney game.

The bad part about Dallas and Bruce knows this, is that Friday it will be in the 60's, that is a big reason why Dylan and Andie are sick all the time.

The weather changes so much.

Sounds like Calgary. In the morning it can be -20C and then a chinook comes in off the Rockies and in the afternoon it's +25C. That's gotta be a pain to deal with.

They cancel school just because it's 17F? Boy, you Texans are bigger wusses than I thought. OK, around here they'll cancel school if we get 5" of snow, but cold doesn't stop anything.

That is funny... 17F and school's cancelled. As Ed said, up here they don't cancel anything because of cold... just snow. And when there's significant accumulations, the temperature is usually just below the freezing mark, so you can go outside and have amazing snowball fights (or an awesome ski day!).

LOL!!!! I had this conversation with myself when I read Daren's post...."Damn, it's 17 degrees and he's complaining! It was supposed to go down to zero?? Man that weather network really screwed up when they said cold air would be in Texas by today...."

I'm with you John!

By the way, we also had tons of "ice fog" this morning - it's very eerie......

We don't want pictures, just the thought of it is enough.

Nah, they cancel school since their was an ice storm that covered the roads lile a ice rink. I just made a run to the store and they are perfect now, except for some overpasses, but with the "bubbas" down here, they will still drive like shite and cause other people to crash.

The only problem is that you did not put any racial overtones in there.
