For those out there with daughters and no sons...what do you plan to do with your watches? I know the commercials - PP, in particular - pitch that you only "look after the watch for next generation." But that is kinda hard to do in our case.
Thoughts?

What's it matter, boy or girl? Girls wear Subs, Daytonas, etc also.

My daughter is getting my watches when she's old enough. I think they look great on women.

Don't have kids but I don't get why a girl can't wear it.
I wore a pendant that had belonged to my Mum and grandma for a few years. It wasn't girly per say but I would never wear it in an ordinary situation. It was worn on a chain under my clothes so nobody ever saw it but the point is that I wore it because of its history. I see no reason why any girl wouldn't be happy to wear any Rolex that belonged to her Dad. You could also give it to the man your daughter marries but I can't see why you'd prefer that over your daughter. Honestly I'd wear a leopard daytona if it had been worn by one of my parents for many years before hand. |

The whole gender appropriate thing is really starting to disappear and I'm glad. I'm not saying you'll see guys wearing dresses but you know what I mean. Women wearing traditionally male watches is more common than ever. I also have to admit the pink accents on the 116000 and 1142XX are really nice. I prefer other dials above them but I don't discount them out of hand just because they're pink. A couple of guys wear them here and that's a fact. A good looking watch is a good looking watch.

If and when your daughters get married you could consider leaving one or two for the great husbands taking care of them. My guess is there will be no shortage of options for you to hand them down to.

Didn't know Rolex was restricted to men. Look around, and you'll notice women wear Rolex sport models as well.

Thx for all the responses. You have helped me overcome a major impediment that was sitting in the way of my next watch purchase!

I have 2 daughters and I think that either would love to have and wear any of my watches. That being said neither are WIS types... now mayme a grandson or grandaughter comes along and I'll be able to do some proper training.

It may not be too late to turn your daughters away from the dark side. I feel the Force in them. It is strong. They WILL become WISs! But, only with training from a WIS Jedi knight like yourself. Lol

Well the watches have to stay so you will have to insist on gender reassignment.

Does it really matter?I 'm a guy but Rolex is for everyone!
She'll like them only, and only because it will remind her of you! That's why I love Rolex, because of my father! |

I am in my 40's, wife and I are not planning to have kids now, so my tip is my nephews and nieces will flog them off to a pawn broker or Ebay so all going well watch out for hopefully 50 or more nice watches going cheap in 50 years time, good luck to all of you then.

Just gave my 25 year old daughter one of my watches as a wedding gift. It was a Steel Datejust 16014 jubilee bracelet. Since everyone seems to be going bigger with watch sizes women included I felt it was more fitting to give her one of my pieces, I don't know what it is about fine watches but it does make you feel better to give one than to receive one. I would think that one day when she has a son or even a daughter of her own it will be her fathers watch that was given to her on her wedding day and it will be even more special to those generations.

A great thing about a Rolex is you can pass down from one generation to next. I have one son and one daughter so each will surely inherit mine and my wife's Rolexes.

Two Rolex watches, two sons, when the time is right (when I'm too old to read the dial!) they will get them and my wife knows if I die prematurely to hold them till they are old enough and pass them on.

When she gets old enough to understand, just ask her if she wants the watch(es) or the cash...I have sons and that's my plan.

If you don't have children yourself you can also give them to any "kids" you might really like that may have done something for you. In my case, I'd like to give one of my watches to my boxing coach, he's 16 years younger than me and in way better shape so I think he'll have time to appreciate it, haha.
