Latest find Breitling stopwatch
Dear Members,
I found this in a draw after a very long time I had forgotten I had it as I purchased it more than forty years ago. I am thinking about sending to Breitling to see if they can restore it your views and comments are welcome Regards Walter Wharton |

I wouldn't send it to Breitling, a watchmaker called Craig (Chronodeco) is your best bet or the Heists.

Dear Cruvon,
Thanks I contacted Craig but he no longer works on theses type of watches due to the lack of spare parts. I will give Heists and let you know how I go many thanks Regards Walter |

All the best Walter, do let us know what the Heists have to say! Do you plan on a movement only service? Wouldn't recommend touching the dial or polishing it. The scratches on the surface look like plastic crystal scratches that will easily go with Polywatch.

Dear Cruvon,
I was thinking I would ask them to restore the watch it runs fine So I thought they could tidy up the case more than anything else what do you think. Regards Walter |

Can you show some pics of the case and what need restoration? So nothings mechanically wrong with the watch besides just needing a service?

latest find Breitling stopwatch
Dear Cruvon,
Not the best photo's in the world but as you will see there are quite a lot of scratches / marks nothing to deep the main thing is the glass / lens it would appear to be running well when tested against an atomic clock but the movement probably could do with a service due to the fact that it has sat for so long. your input is welcome and again thanks Regards Walter |

I don't see anything serious with it, if I were you I would keep it as is, bar a movement service. As for the scratches on the dial, get yourself a tube of Polywatch, from what I have heard, the scratches might just disappear.

Parts is the one problem when dealing with these vintage watches, try the polywatch and I think it'll clean up the glass nicely...
