What is the value of Omega 2254?
What are the values of this particular model? I know it's discontinued but what's the ballpark value one can sell this watch?

Check the sales forum here, and at places like watchuseek and timezone to get an idea. eBay would be another good source of market values. The market price will depend not only on the watch, it's condition, state of service/service history, and completeness with box, all links etc, but also on the history/reputation of the seller.

Correct advice... the only thing I would add is that it is a very popular model and prices seem to have been rising over the last year... so concentrate your research on the last 3 months of ads.

Condition!
Condition is everything! If in mint, then around $2,500.00. If all scratched up, around $1,500.00.

I wouldn't pay $2500 for even NOS.
$2000 tops regardless of condition. There are plenty of them around.

Yeah the prices elevated slightly right after it was initially discontinued but they came back down pretty quickly. They aren't truly vintage yet and like someone already said there are too many of them around to sustain an elevated price.

I would say $1800 - 2200, depending on condition, seller, etc.

I'd like to see where people are paying $2500 for a mint version. That's the same going rate at the chronograph with the 3303 column-wheel movement, which is a far, far rarer watch.
Pretty sure I can dig up $2k mint or near mint examples...

It really depends on year, condition and of course package. I would say given mint quality and only years determining prices with full box and cards range is 1900-2300. It really depends on how bad someone wants it too.

The 2254 is a great watch. It does seem a bit overhyped and people are paying a premium for that vs the 2531 bond which to me is equally nice and more of a design icon for Omega.
It is surprising how the market is though...I paid $1300 for the one I owned 6 years ago, lnib....I also owned a 2264 that I bought 4 years ago for $900, again lnib...now it is closer to $2k and $1500 it seems for mint, late production examples of each. If I was going to own one again, I think I'd go for the 2264...that is one awesome timepiece and I somewhat regret selling mine... |

Well I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion but I wish Omega had stuck with their sword hands as the circular plots and skeleton hands don't give off the same lume surface as the previous generation of coffin markers and sword hands. People love the 2254.50 for its robust movement, clean and classic design with great lume. The newer ones have the fantastic ceramic bezel and newer 2500D movement but you can always go to the store while the 2254.50 has been discontinued gor a while and takes a bit of effort finding one that isn't worn much and in mint condition. Gluck on your search!

You are correct!
I agree with your post. That is basically what I said. Around $2,300 for a mint one. I am still waiting for applebook to show me where I was wrong.

I just got one in decent shape off ebay with no papers or anything for $1750. I've seen them sell in the $2100 range with box and papers etc.
I'm really in love with this watch. I also have a Sub 16800 (listed) and I find that I'm wearing the SMP more and more. Much more comfortable on the wrist and under the dress shirt, higher quality bracelet, fantastic and superb deployment clasp and I like the dial design very much. Not to mention it inches out the sub in case diameter by 1mm which IS in fact enough to notice. I also like the price difference. Yes, Omega is a much better value for the amount spent. Do I still love my Sub, absolutely...but the SMP is making it hard to pick a favorite. I do prefer the larger winding crown of my Sub. I also like that parts are much more easily obtainable (Otto Frei for example) for Omega than for Rolex. |

I have a 2254.50 and also a 2255.80 Electric Blue. My favorite modern Omega by far. The EB I got in feb 2012 NOS at Tourbillon Boutique Wall Street NYC for 2500+tax. Those are my only modern Omega, sice I sold my POs and a 2531 Bond to fund my Sub-C and could not be happier with my diver collection. To be honest, I believe today one will find a mint 2254 for 2200 or 2300 usd here or WUS sales corner.

I'm sure there are cases of 2254's going for $2500. You only need one buyer.
I think I can safely say that many wouldn't part with $2500 in the current market for one, as nice as they are...that's cal. 2500 PO territory, and for my money, I'll take the PO. |

I've seen these go for less than $2000 on overinflated eprey auctions. A Canadian seller just sold his for around $2100 USD, and Canadian watches are notoriously inflated compared to US:
http://forums.watchuseek.com/f29/fs-...da-909530.html If you feel happy paying $2500 for yours, then good for you, but to advise potential buyers that paying that much for a mass produced watch that was made only a handful of years ago is bad advice. You earlier said "$2500," but now it's down to $2300? My suggestion for people seriously interested in picking one up is to wait for under $2000. You can even get the limited American Cup model in the same ballpark. At $2500, Kring was selling the far superior chronograph that is actually pretty rare.

I was dragged into the battlefield, so on my behalf I say I knew I was paying a premium for my 2255.80 EB as I found one brand new, at the city I was traveling to with my wife for some work holidays so no need to mail or wire anything, got extended 3 yrs warranty, Omega Cap, Omega gulf balls, polishing cloth, mags, key holder, complete package and etc. It was a nice deal and the watch was a very nice NYC souvenir so that is why I decided to pay extra for it. On the other hand, my 2254.50 was bought new at an AD for 2k back in 2010. If you guys want to know the real price for this watches nowadays, you all should hear what our fellow Kringkly is saying on this thread. He knows this game. Chill guys.
