16613 back after service
I bought this beauty about seven weeks ago, a 1991 16613, and sent it straight in to RSC for an overhaul....new crystal, bezel, handset, dial, winding crown and of course full mechanical service and polish. Got it back this morning, and of course, it is gleaming!!!!

With all the money you put for the service with dials and hands etc... Wouldn't it of been cheaper just to buy a better example? .. By the way .. She's a beauty

Whenever I see one I always think about snapping one up, even though I really am a ceramic man now.

Wow that really turned out nice. Nothing like a freshly serviced 16613. Makes me wish I didn't sell mine.

It is a fair comment. I had made up my mind to have the watch serviced anyway, as it was due servicing. I was aware of damage to the bezel and the hands being tainted, and asked Rolex to quote to make 'as new' . This was reflected to an extent, although not fully, in the price i paid for the watch. Rolex also quoted for the dial change and winding crown. I was happy with the price I paid for the watch, happy with the price for the service and overhaul, and happy i have now have an 'as new' watch which will serve me well for many many years. I know many people prefer to keep things as original as possible, and will only ask for mechanical service, as i have done with my sea dweller before now, but in this case I wanted to get it back to its former glory, and im delighted with the results. incidentally for those who are interested, the crystal, which was replaced as a matter of course, has got the service 'S' in the LEC. |
