DJII Roman or Stick ?

I am thinking of purchasing my next Rolex. At first I was set on a blue DJII stick dial, but recently started to get attracted to the Roman numerals. Does anyone have a hard time reading the roman numerals since they're not lumed?

Both choices would be smooth bezel.

By the way, I have a SubC ND and would be flipping my GMTIIC for the DJII.

Thanks for your tips

The blue dial and white sticks would be my choice. A classy and sporty combo - my worth.

Here's my $0.02. I was set on getting the blue sticks. Tried it on at AD and started the hunt here with a trusted seller. Then I tried on the Blue Roman side by side with the blue stick at another AD. Honestly could have been happy with either one. What swung the vote was the Romans was just easier on the eyes for me. The only thing that bothered me about the stick was that the markers were out of proportion with the hands. The Romans did not have that problem. The downside of course is less legibillity and no lume. So for me, beauty won out over legibility. So it takes a couple more milliseconds to read the time but it's worth it to see more of the roman dial. You really can't go wrong here with either blue DJ II!

Blue dial with sticks would be my choice.

Hopefully SaddleSC will be along to chime in with a photo of his beauty.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the blue is different between the 2 dials. I also prefer the darker blue that comes with the stick dial

I do think the sticks look better with the smooth, and the Romans with the fluted.

That is one flat out gorgeous picture of an amazing watch, Gilv!

Sticks. I personally dislike Roman numerals mixed with an Arabic date wheel.

I really prefer the DJII Roman over the stick. Both look great, but the numerals are the winner in my book.

My brother in-law wears a DJII blue roman smooth bezel. It's one nice watch for sure!

Guess it good they make so may varieties for all is weirdos!

I always thought that if at sometime in the future if I'd ever get a DJ it would be with a stick dial, blue or black, jubilee bracelet and the fluted bezel.

Batons / stick - the roman numerals just have too much going on and clutter the dial of an otherwise perfect watch.

I prefer the Roman numbers with the fluted bezel. Very classy with either blue or white dial. The lack of lume does not bother me that much.

Easy choice - roman with fluted bezel. Far less common, and it adds even more class to the watch.

Blue with the Roman is stunning by the way. I remember seeing it in Esquire Magazine about a year ago.

If I was unsure, I would take pictures and review them side by side until one spoke louder to you. I have Romans on my Breitlings and sticks on my Daytona and really enjoy both. The sticks have awesome lume.

Stick for a more casual look and Roman for a more formal look.

When looking at DJ's the fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet were a given, Rolex design cues. Hadn't considered Roman numerals until I saw them on this rhodium dial, instantly sold me.
