I am looking to get a birth year watch.....

From 1958.

And have been scouring all the usual haunts!

I was made aware of the site below and would appreciate any feed back on the two pieces from the aforementioned year.

One is an Omega Seamaster Calendar Gold 1958 priced at £730.00

And the other is an Omega Seamaster Automatic 14k Gold Filled 1958 priced at £930.00

If those two don't pan out, you can do what I did: I have eBay set up so it automatically sends me an email when a vintage 1958 (my birth year, too!) watch is newly listed.

Pretty expensive for a non-chronometer Seamaster.

Suggest for that price you look at a good cal 505 model 2852 Constellation chronometer in either gold cap or stainless.

Good hunting.

Cheers

Desmond

Thanks Desmond.

You are not the only collector, who has pointed out the price!

I shall research your suggestion.
