FSOT: Rolex 16660 Sea-Dweller - Fully serviced - Rare dial - $5350
One of the landmines in buying vintage Rolex watches often is the fact that you really don't know what kind of condition you're going to get a watch in. Here's a chance to get a nice "triple 6" Sea-Dweller from the 80's that's been fully overhauled, so you know you're getting a rock solid watch.
The watch already starts out as valuable, since it's got a pretty rare dial as far as Dwellers go. It's a "no-hyphen" dial (between the words "Sea" and "Dweller") with an even spider-patina finish on the glossy dial. In addition to that, the watch just had a $1600 service which included a full movement service as well as case refinishing. The dial is untouched, the hands are tritium and a bit lighter than the dial, the insert is luminova. Unlike many sales which claim service but provide no documentation, this sale includes full service documentation from Rik Dietel - a well-respected watchmaker when it comes to Rolex. To complete the package, the Rolex oyster bracelet (which you usually find all stretched from years of use) has been fully refurbished by Michael Young, a master at his craft. It's as tight as a new bracelet in all ways (clasp, links, etc...) except for the dive extension which is loose. This is probably a $1k bracelet at least. I'm asking $5350 NET to me. Payment via wire or bank deposit preferred. Paypal, cashier's check, or money order okay, but you cover fees based on your choice of form of payment. I will cover shipping and insurance within CONUS. I have countless references on numerous forums for many high-dollar transactions. Contact me with any questions.
