I'm thinking of buying either in 36mm. I've been told the Exp is "clunkier" and the 3132 movement is slightly less accurate then that over the co-axial. So is the Omega the better deal? Please weigh in! thanks -Jordan M.

Get the Rolex, it holds its value.
Ps if you demand perfect accuracy get a quartz watch

I'd get the Rolex as well. I have an Omega 2254 and it seems so soulless. Not sure why, just is.

I'd totally go with the explorer, I love the 36mm version it's so complete from all perspectives!

Over on the omega forum you were talking about getting an AT Quartz because you were on a budget but now you're after a co-axial 8500 or an Explorer?
Well, if I only had to have one watch I'd go for the Explorer as it's more versatile IMO and it will undoubtedly hold it's value better.

However because I have a 14060m that I were every day in a rough, outdoor environment I wanted something a little dressier for when I get cleaned up and go into town so I went for the Blue AT 8500 38.5mm.

I like the AT & from what I've read it has the better movement but I love the ExpI. I wish I could afford both. I love the way they both look.

I've owned both (and still own the Explorer). I think the AT has the superior movement, but after wearing it for a few months, found the teak dial to be a little too busy and the case to be a little too thick. I would (and did!) go with the Explorer.

The AT has a better movement, even the old eta based movement was better.
But I like the explorer more than the AT. I never realy liked the AT, if the dial had a Seiko logo I would believe it too.

Both are fine. The AT is probably the best looking modern watch made in my opinion

The AT is a good looking watch. However I find the dial to be a little too 3 dimensional. There is no doubt that the AT has a very modern look which will almost certainly become dated at some point in the future. If this is a watch you looking to dump in the next decade at a sizable loss and you're simply after something that looks good now the AT is a better choice. If you want a true classic on your wrist that will look as good many years from now as it does today then the exp is it. It may not be as flashy but the exp has a huge following and there is a good reason for that.

covers all bases and is rarer than an exp 36mm for less doh-ray-me and more unique than standard AT's.

i've owned AT's, EXP 36 & 39 and a railmaster. the railmaster is theo one i want back.

I am with you dude. I would love a Railmaster or an AT from that 2500 movement era. These two could be worn bracelet or any strap material you through at them. I just do not like the 8500 ATs. Too thick and top heavy. The Planet Ocean though is a different story.

Interesting. That is how I ended up feeling about all of my Omega's. Glad I am not alone in regards.

I have tried so hard over the years to convince myself I could live with an Omega -- with the benefit of the cost savings -- but I never could. I never bought one, but if I had, I can promise it would've been sold at a loss and then followed by a Rolex purchase anyway.
