New GMT 2 sized but links are TIGHT???

Just got my new GMT II and when I left my AD they put it on my wrist so I didn't notice but how tight the links are. When I took it off tonight noticed that the links with the screws are very stiff and hard to move?? Are they supposed to be like this or should they move freely and loosely like the tapered ones.

I believe they should move freely, but the newer bracelets are held to tighter specs, meaning there will be less "play" in the newer bracelets. It may loosen itself over time, but if it's bothering you, I'd take it back and have the AD adjust it.

I have a 115234 which had the AD add an extra link to. The link feels more stiffer than the other ones.
Maybe it will loosen up like @kilyung says.

Just give it a few washes in warm soap and water it will loosen, up even the older bracelets were stiff when new.

Ordinarily they move just like the permanent links. If you had flexed the bracelet before sizing was done, you'd notice they all probably flexed like normal.

Sometimes when being sized, a link or two are now mated with ones that have a tighter tolerance (like the fitment of new cylinder rings in a car's engine). As a result there is some binding occurring and the symptom is a stiff linkage.

This will resolve itself in due time. If it is bothering you while wearing the watch then you can accelerate the "break-in" by flexing the links manually while sitting on the sofa today watching NFL

Thanks for your reply. The link doesn't bother be that much, just wanted to make sure it was ok to be stiff. Go Cowboys!

I did some research and found out that the reason the links are stiff is because the AD got loctite on screw instead of just on the threads. I unscrewed the stiff screws and cleaned them off. I put back in and no tightness any more....

Yep. That's happened to me, too. You might want to re-apply some Loctite if you haven't already.

This is what I was thinking as this has happened to me before. Glad it has been corrected. Enjoy your watch.

Lesson learned here - just a little 221 on the threads!

Bring it back, the loctite was misapplied. It needs to be disassembled and redone. Tell them to apply the loctite to the threads of the link itself...not the screw threads.
