Sub C ND or Explorer I

What's your opinion between these two watches? The Sub is classic but the Explorer I seems to be gaining in popularity lately. Just curious what the general consensus is? If you were looking for a dateless sport watch which one would you go with and why.
Thanks

Already got a Sub 5513 and Explorer 36mm is next on the list. Just the way it worked out.

If your choosing between the current models I would get the subc. It's a popular classic and I love the clasp. Plus, the exp 1 has hands that are too short... Although I still like it a lot.

I feel that the explorer I is the better everyday watch while the sub ND is the more exceptional watch. Take that as you will

Which one do you like better. That's more important than what others think.

I wouldn't buy what's popular. Buy what you like best. I'm loving my 114060 more each day. It's the perfect watch for me.

Love em both. Currently have the 14060m explorer is on my want list though. Both classics in most everyone's opinion.

I love the new Submariner C No Date. It's more exciting, substantial, and interesting (to my eye) than the Explorer 1.

But ... my wrist is 6.75" and the Explorer 1 is the perfect size, fit, and look -- balanced, proportional, etc. And ... the Explorer 1 is lower key.

If you have a small wrist and are not afraid to strut your stuff (just a little) the Submariner is perfect. If you lean toward a more understated look and/or your wrist isn't too large, then go with the Explorer. That said, get the one you like ;-)

My wrist is 6.75" and I own a 16610, 16600, and 16610LV -- couldn't be happier. I want to like the 114060 but it's a touch large and shiny -- for me. The Explorer 1 is great but I prefer the older Rolexes. All the thrill of a Submariner or Sea Dweller without the ceramic bling. Well, the LV has a little bling ;-)

I like both, but I picked the 114060. I love the ceramic bezel.

Apples and Oranges. I'd choose the SubC if money isn't a consideration. Both are classics but considered in different categories.

the sub c nd is a lot of watch just to tell time...a lot of metal is just for heft and show....like flying a 747 with 2 passengers.

the exp 1 39mm tells only time with the right amount of metal and of the right size.

not sure if i made sense...that's my feeling after having the sub c nd and trying the 39mm expo.

conclusion... get the 747

That's a tough choice for me.
The only reason I don't own either, is because I can't decide which I like more.
I'm sure this was a very helpful response.

I like this.

If you just want a light simple time only watch, consider the older Explorer I 114270.

If you want a whole lot of watch, get the ceramic Sub Date 116610.

If nd Sub I'd also consider the Tudor Heritage Black Bay or an older Sub.

Sub is the first with the Exp a very close second.

I have a Sub C and an Explorer I. I love both of them but for different reasons. My Sub is my go to every day watch that I think looks great in a suit or when wearing shorts and a t shirt. It's substantial and elegent. I love the ceramic bezel and I've always had a thing for dive watches. The Explorer is really light weight in comparison. For me it's a dressier watch that has a lower profile and looks amazing poking out of my suit. If I had to chose one it would be the Sub C for sure. In my opinion it's the one Rolex that everyone should own. Both are great watches but in my opinion the Sub is more versatile. Can't go wrong either way though. Either way you will be very happy
