Here we go. After a big breakfast, I was 'informed' that due to weather, there was a 4 HOUR delay. What to do? Well, get some snacks and my favorite tequila: Reserva de la Familia

Next day, after a huge breakfast and gallons of coffee, it is time to visit the tequila store, where they have a selection of Resreva de la Familia past boxes!!!!! Let me explain: each year, Tequila Cuervo assigns the design of the Reserva box to a mexican artist. only 10,000 bottles are made each year (hand filled, sealed and cased) and once the bottles and cases are gone...that is it; they become valuable collector's items.

For lunch with friends, they decide on italian, so risotto and a nice Malbec do the work

A day (and more coffee) later, it is time to visit Tlaquepaque. Soooo many colors, and the sky....just gorgeous! How to spend a hot afternoon? Relaxing with a beer and...you guessed it, more tequila! 1800 blanco this time, just before lunch, with an amazing Reserva de la Familia Platino paired bone marrow (tuetanos) and chiles en nogada!!!!!

After all this eating, dinner had to be 'light'.....yeah, right......so dinner at a place with 390 bottles of different tequilas in stock where Arete blanco and reposado were perfect with appetizers, just some escamoles (ants) and gusanos de maguey (maguey worms).

...and after a long day, a mexican buffet, with more Reserva de la Familia and a special 1800 tequila tasting (blanco, reposado and añejo) with some mexican folklore dance. What a trip!

Forget the beaches and 'tourist' destinations, visit our hidden gems. Guadalajara, Tequila, Tlaquepaque and all our Pueblos Magicos!

I hope you enjoyed the 'trip'
