Which PAMs to let go for a Patek 5711?
Have a 25, 390, 232 and 372 in the collection.. The first of which will never be sold for sentimental reasons as I bought it during my honeymoon..
Have been eyeing a Patek Nautilus 5711 for a while now, but have to let something go to fund it, probably 2 out of the 390 232 and 372.. Which of the 390, 232 and 372 (2 pieces) would you let go to fund the PP 5711? Or are they such a perfect trinity to you that you would not break it up for a Nautilus? Interested to know what you good folks think! Rather conflicted on this and the feeling changes oh so often. Cheers all !! |

The Nautilus will add variety to your collection. Keep the 232 and let the 390 and 372 go.

I would tell you keep them all, don't buy the Patek, for me that watch is just plain ugly, I wouldn't even wear it if it was given to me, would sell it to get a really nice watch, for me PP is way overpriced, for less you can get a Blancpain, Breguet, which in my opinion blow away PP, in style, history and much more, but your choice...

if you HAVE to flip two, between the 390, 232 and 372, i would most want to keep the 232. the 25, 232 and 5711 would be a pretty sweet trio.
good luck with the choice. |

I'd sell the 390 however and most likey the 372. 232 is the best on out there IMHO. The true first Panerai.

I say keep a Luminor as I feel they are what Panerai is best known for. This said, I'd personally keep the 390. That's only because I'm not a huge plexi fan like most.

I like the solid caseback on the 390 and the 44 size is extremely wearable.
Really comes down to which do you find you dont wear....imho Regardless of collectibility or sentimentality.

No problem replacing any of the models you have.....should you decide to replace, you'll probably end up buying them for much less than you did when you purchased originally. Sell them all and get a real watch!!!!!

I'd sell the 372 since its regular production. Tough choice between the others. It's now a choice between Luminor & Radiomir.
Good luck! |

I think the Rad 232 is a must keep. The 5711 is a good upgrade too.

Do what you must to get the Patek. One of my favorites.

Thank you for your suggestions..
For me right now the 390 will most certainly be one of those to go.. Really flipping back and forth between the 232 and 372 though.. |

if it helps, the 372 is still being produced and second-hand values are getting softer and softer, so, you will be able to pick it up later more easily than the 232 if you want to get it back. |

Keep the one you like best .. Regardless of LE or non-LE. Money can buy you anyth you would like, whenever you would want to, down the road.
For me, I would keep the 372 and 232. Between the two, I would keep the 372. |

Whatever you decide, don't wait too long. PP price increases are brutal and rumor has it that PP will be reducing production of Nautilus models (hell they've already discontinued the 5980).

Sell all 3 before you take more beating on the prices. 1 PAM is enough.

AGREED. One Pam for regular Model and one for Special Model (either vintage or Limited Edition) In your case sell 372 and 232 and probably 390 so you can get new limited edition in future. otherwise keep 390 or 232. I choose 390 to keep in your case. |
