My first incoming thread.

[Note: I'm not an English native speaker so please be gentle if my writing is not completely correct ]

As you can see from my signature, my watch collection is very small. Moreover, only the Breitling (my daily wearer) and the Grand Seiko were actually bought by me, all the other watches were inherited from my late father.

I used to own a nice Zenith Fly-Back chronograph from the early nineties, perfectly working but after more than 20 years of use it was really in need of a service. That was quoted 550€, way too much IMHO, so I eventually sold it.

Than I went to the market for a weekend watch, something less sporty than the Breitling but not really a "dress watch". I was open to every brand with only a few constraints:
  • yellow or rose gold on leather or
  • steel & yellow or rose gold on bracelet;
  • price tag around 4000€;
  • 39 to 41mm diameter;
  • brand new or very recently serviced (with at least a one-year warranty of course);
  • historically correct with the case in good shape.

To cut a long story short, I found exactly what I was looking for. Steel and yellow gold on bracelet, 40mm case lightly polished, produced in 1990 or 1991, serviced just a week ago, from a very reputable seller and for exactly 4K Euros. Should be mine next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Anyone wanting to try and guess?

Thanks guys.

The only pictures I have for now are from the seller (and they're not that good indeed).

I have come to realize that pictures though a great visual representation, is never a substitute for seeing a watch in person.

I am sure your watch looks great. Congratulations.

Your written English is fine, better than most Americans actually.

Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to receiving my watch and I'm posting pictures as soon as I have it. Just a question: how do you resize the bracelet? Are the screws or is there some kind of pin-and-collar solution implemented?

It has a screwed-link bracelet. Easy to resize yourself once you have the watch in your possession. Congrats on a fantastic watch
