Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue: A few worthy battle scars!
Hi Everyone,
I’ve been using my Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue for most of the summer now and it has picked up a few scratches here and there. Mostly the bracelet. Not that this bothers me as I bought the watch to use and it certainly has been used. It’s been cycling and kayaking etc… But this is exactly what I wanted to use the watch for and I think there are far more important things to worry about than a few scratches on a watch. But for me this is exactly how I think that watches such as the Submariner, Black Bay and Pelagos should be used. Enjoyed and used hard like back in the day without a second thought. Other folks will think differently to me and that is their right to do so. As per usual my photos aren’t the best, but they should give you an idea of some of the scratches picked up. I think this has to be one of my favourite watches. It was one of those watches that when I first saw it, I immediately liked it and wanted one if I could get one for a fair price. And I have to say that there aren’t that many watches that I immediately like when I first see them, only a very few and this was one of them. Till next time… The Laird

No worries, my friend. Used my THC while working around the house and scraped the bezel against a brick wall. Didn't do any harm but still made me stop in my tracks. But then thought I bought it to use it and any scars should and will be well deserved.

This is just like I think. Wear the watch and enjoy it. Don’t worry about any scratches and dings. Wear all your watches in good health my friend. (And put some happy miles in on your bike.) Till next time… The Laird

I think that's one of the main reasons why I love vintage watches with such a passion. I love the "story" that each scratch tells.

I would also agree, a watch is a tool for telling time and as such is meant to be worn and used.....not spend time in a safe deposit box or some other type of storage!!!

Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue: A few worthy battle scars!
Guys- great thread. It strikes a chord with me.
That's exactly how I wear my SubC - I try to go through as much as I can through life with it on, this way, I create stories with it and with every story, the watch becomes more and more dear to my heart. Each battle scar reminds me of something or someone special. For example, once I was climbing a tree with my kids at the playground, playing and bonding with them. But as I was hanging onto a thick branch, the Glidelock clasp got harshly scratched against the it. Surely I was devastated at the time it happened, as the watch was fairly new back then - natural instinct. But now, every time I see those scratches on the clasp, I think of my beautiful kids and the wonderful times I have with them. Some of the other things I've done with my SubC on - skateboarding, trap shooting, extreme trampolining, race car driving, snake handling, even learnt how to do a backward handspring with it on. And you bet, the list will only grow, the stories will only continue. This, is the essence, of a true lifetime piece, and you've captured it perfectly. Well done, and keep it going mate! |

I'm finally starting to feel this way with my GMT. It's very liberating. Sadly I'm still very uptight with my LVc.
