New, smaller Casebudi???
Looks like Casebudi finally came out with a smaller case. It's 1.5 inches high. The small Oakley watch vault is 1.75 inches high and the large is 2.25 inches high. Score for ROs?!?!?! Wonder if it's too small...?

Weird, the tape measure pics say 1.5 x 3.75 but the product details say it's 4x4x2. So now I'm not sure about the "fits 44mm" statement. Seems to be conflicting info and makes me wonder whether the small or large will show up at your door.

I just ordered one. I should be getting it on Friday. I think casebudi redesigned the case and it's now smaller than the original. I don't think there is a big and small version.
I'll keep you guys posted. |

I received my case today. The dimensions are 1.5 x 3.75, as T. Ferguson noted. The pictures from Amazon are accurate. What you see is what you get. I guess they just haven't updated their description yet.
Some thoughts: (Keep in mind that I've never seen the Oakley case in person so I cannot compare the Casebudi to the Oakley case) This case is made from a very tough material. Amazon describes it as ballistic nylon. They aren't kidding. This stuff could stop a bullet lol. The interior of the case is soft, but there isn't much padding. The case holds my 41mm 2254.50 very well. I believe that this case will accommodate anything up to 44mm. I can put the watch in place, shake the case and the watch will not lose its form. This case will definitely help reduce scratches if you are like me and just set your watch down on itself when you're not wearing it. Since there is limited (none, really) padding, I feel like the case offers little to no shock protection in case of a drop, but if something drops on the case, I am confident that its hard shell will protect whatever is inside. Would I buy this case again? Hell yea! $14 is a small price to pay to protect our watches. |

The Oakley case seemed like a very solid product. Too bad the small case has been discontinued. I would have loved to compare the two. Hopefully somebody who has the small case will buy a Casebudi and can do a better review/comparison than me. There is currently an Oakley case for sale on ebay for $135. Ridiculous! I hope the seller isn't a TRF member. |

So I've got here the Oakley Large, the Oakley Small, and the new smaller Casebudi.
Executive Summary: The Casebudi is better than the Oakley Large for my 39-41mm collection, but I still prefer the Oakley Small for these watches, mainly because of the shorter width. But the Casebudi is certainly a better option than the Oakley Large for watches this size. And if you have a large wrist, the Casebudi might hold your 39-41mm watches better than the Oakley Small, as the Oakley's width might not fit your watch. For 42mm+ watches, I think you need the Oakley Large. Breakdown: - Outer durability -- Tie. - Inner softness -- Winner Oakley. They are more plush and padded on the inside, but I think the Casebudi is sufficient in this regard. - Height dimension -- Tie. The Oakley Small and Casebudi both fit 39-41mm watch nicely. If anything, the Casebudi's greater width provides a little more give to fit my 41mm ROC comfortably, whereas the Oakley Small zips pretty tightly around it -- to the point where it may expose the watch to the zipper. - Width dimension -- for my watches sized to a 7-inch wrist, the Oakley Small is the winner. There's too much room in the Casebudi. It's about as wide as the Oakley Large. And the more gradual concaveness doesn't feel like it holds the watch as securely. - Zipper and zipper lip-- Winner Casebudi. It has more high-quality zipper and possible even a better zipper lip to protect the watch. - Misc -- the height on the Casebudi's buckle side is so short that it unbuckles my ROC's bufferfly clasp. Not thrilled about that, but don't know that it matters. Conclusion: I'd probably use the Oakley Small for my Jumbo, GMT, and DJ. The Casebudi might beat out the Oakley Small for the 41mm ROC, and Casebudi might have put the Oakley Large out of business altogether for my 39-41mm collection. |

Thanks for the review. The Oakley small has many good things going for it. Too bad they're no longer in production.
