FS: Tudor Monte Carlo Chronograph Vintage VERY Rare Blue 7149/0 Serviced

For sale is my Tudor 7149/0 Monte Carlo. 844*** Serial

Watch dates to around 1976. Just serviced by Bob Ridley of Watchmakers international (I chose Bob due to his respect for originality). This service was very very extensive and only original Rolex/ Tudor parts were used. Service took about 5 months. Watch was returned to me on 10/3/2013 and has not been worn since. A new old stock crystal was sourced and installed. Cannon pinion was adjusted. New mainspring, new winding crown, case tube, seals, pushers- all original from Rolex or if they stopped making the part- a new old stock part was sourced! Nothing aftermarket was used. New seals, new springbars for the bracelet (which is the original 7836 with 380 end links).

The movement in this watch is the Cal Valjoux 234 which is very similar to the early Rolex Daytona movements and much easier to service (as per Bob) than some of the other Monte Carlo movements.

The case is beautiful and shows a fantastic bevel indicating that it was not over-polished.

The bezel is the fixed tach bezel which is rare- but in blue even rarer.

The original Rolex folded link bracelet is excellent as are the original endlinks. The clasp has a dent in it not affecting functionality.

Dial shows age. The original blue finish has faded to a brownish color. There are a couple of other spots. Overall the watch looks great on the wrist.

The tritium luminous markers are all original and have browned (all except one which Bob guesses was covered by the minute hand during the aging process for many years). I had Bob stabilize the lume with a compound so that it does not flake off. We opted not to match the 7 marker color to the others as to preserve the originality.

Watch is keeping COSC accuracy and is ready to be enjoyed.
