1968 Speedmaster going into long term storage...
Since recently picking up a Rolex 1675 GMT the '68 Speedmaster is not seeing much wrist time anymore. I guess it's time to put it into long term storage.
I'm going to seal her up in the an original NASA storage bag used to preserve a flown Apollo astronauts watch (who shall remain nameless) and then put it into the bag used to store the watch at the National Air and Space museum (NASM) for 35+ years until it went on display a few years ago. For any of you NASA Speedmaster fans, here is an image of how the Speedmasters were sealed and stored after they were returned by the astronauts and cleaned. |
