Question about straps

Hey Guys,

need your advice on straps. I went to the AD this weekend and they finally got back to me regarding straps. I want to order the singapore F1 strap, however the lady at the AD told me that it's for the deployant buckle. I told her I wanted a tang buckle instead. Are the straps for AP interchangeable like that? I'm ordering the short version if that matters.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

The deployment straps taper much more and will not work with the tang buckle. Straps for the tang buckle dont taper as much/are wider at the buckle and also have longer flat holes. They are not interchangeable.

It looks like you have the ROO Panda in your sig. If that came on a strap you should have the deployment buckle and that will fit the Singapore F1 strap. The wider tang buckle like on the diver and 44mm will not fit deployment straps.

hmm... thanks for the info. I bought the panda with a bracelet because the deployment with the hornback looked really odd on my wrist. It jutted out too much. Do you think that's because of the stiffness of the hornback? If i got the deployment on the F1, will it look much better? My wrist is 6.75 inches.

I much prefer the tang buckle to the deployment in looks, comfort and design.

Since your panda is on a bracelet I would get the wider tang buckle, ss plots and black survivor hornback strap from John Evans at APSC (727-216-0920 or john.evans@audemarspiguet.com). It doesnt have the red stitching but its a VERY NICE strap.

Or I've heard you can custom order strap from AP but it can take a long time. I would also order the rubber diver strap so you have all the options covered.

I've never felt the F1 strap but the AP hornbacks are pretty stiff when new. Maybe others here can comment on the F1 strap on deployment and its comfort/fit.

Here's what the survivor strap looks like.

gotcha! Thanks again. I'll shoot John Evans an email to ask him. Strap looks great by the way. I may just order short rubber diver for now then.

I got the F1 Singapore strap for my Panda, and it is interchangable on the deployant clasp as well as the SMALLER pin buckle which you purchase separately. It will not work with the diver buckle, certainly.

The F1 strap is best for the Panda IMO, it makes it work for even my 6 inch wrist. Whether you want the pink buckle of deployany is really up to you though, some trial and error involved. I got the pin buckle, but found myself between holes, so switched back to the deployant clasp which came with my hornback, and that's my default setting now.

Just got off the phone with an AD. They are able to order the smaller tang, f1 strap, and 2 sets of plots for 642 plus tax. Sound about right? Thanks everyone for your help.

Very nice! Placed an order this morning. Hopefully I'll get it before 3 to 4 weeks.
