Hi, everyone. Today I just picked up my first rolex. I spotted that there is a tiny tiny bubble located on the upside down triangle. It bugs me quit a bit. Is it normal? What can I do?

If it is Rolex it should be perfect. They will surely fix it for you.

Edit: Are you talking about the tip of the marker? I would not call this a flaw, but that is just me.

Congrats on a great choice! Uneven lume application happens, for myself I can live with it.

If there are some more flaws with the watch perhaps an exchange is in order, mass produced watches on occasion do have flaws.

Yeah it should be perfect. It is a Rolex. The A.D. should and will replace it with one without a blemish. Congrats on joining the Rolex family.

I know it may bother you but think of it like this...say you were at a GTG and someone else had the same exact watch as you. After everyone passed around their watches a couple of times and after a few drinks, how can you tell which one is yours?
Exactly! That's YOUR watch and there's only one EXACTLY like it....enjoy!

Unless you look at your watch at that magnification, I cannot even see it in the normal shot

Kind of point out the bubble. I know I will I could live with it but I just didn't expect that shown on a rolex.

If there is a scratch on my Porsche at the time of delivery, I am sure the dealer will fix it for me but Iam not sure if this could happen in the Rolex World.

Actually, I can easily see that bubble without magnify it when I look at the 12 o'clock

Then you should exchange it or repair it and pray the next one has no flaws that you can see.

If it irritates you, even slightly, have it addressed. It's under warranty, after all. Having spotted this, it will likely stand out to you now. Why endure chronic irritation, however minor? You paid a tidy sum for the watch...it's not unreasonable for your to expect complete satisfaction.

A little flaw here and there isn't a big deal but in the lume at 12 that would annoy me. It's something you kind of have to look at every time you check the time.

My AD would swap it out

I start each watch out perfect then I mark them up

Swap it it will drive me and you crazy!!

That's what a warranty is for. If it bothers you have it fixed or replaced, It would bother me.

It would bother the hell outta me...it's the biggest lume and you know your going to look at it every time you check your watch.

Depends on how accurate your watch keep time. There are ALOT more irritating problems that can come up in a watch exchange. What if the exchange watch was -4 seconds a day????? Think about it.

It will bother some and not bother others. At the end of the day it is a minor imperfection and these things can happen. It is up to you what you want to do, it's your watch and your money.
But to answer your question more specifically; I don't think you are being unreasonable at all, however it just might appear that way to the dealer. Again they may think you are perfectly right or completely unreasonable so be prepared to discuss it with them from either perspective.

wear it, enjoy it, bring it up when it comes time for service if it still bothers you… chances are nobody else will notice unless they have a lupe!
