John Mayer Instagram post

Did any of you see the post of John Mayer's Instagram account today? not sure if it's actually his or not, but thought I would share. since DavidSW has a pic of something similar to this as his profile pic, he could get a chuckle out of this too.

I obviously think it ain't real but who knows if you're JM.

I saw this today and almost posted it on here as well. As to whether or not it's real... I have no idea. Maybe if you're John Mayer and you have run out of watches to buy, then screw it, make a Mickey Daytona! Still not as bad as the Leopard.

If this is real, it's disappointing.

It's funny...whether it's real or not.

Leave it to an attention seeking celebrity to "f" with a classic.

Vintage inspired? Is Mickey the vintage part?

No. But I did see this on Katy Perry's Instagram. John Mayer is one lucky son of a $&/!€

There's no indication that this is a Rolex run, so if Mayer wants to pay to have a Mickey Mouse Daytona, why should I care?

The message is a bit vague as to whether or not it's simply a design or if it's an actual watch, but it's still not my concern.

Why not, hes got money to burn & great respect for haute horology.
Between the hard work hes cranking out and the amazing bevy of beauties that keep him occupied, he has a fun side.... He graffitied a daytona in a unique way..thats cool:)

I love that thing. Looks mega cool and unique. I think the way Mickey is incorporated into the dial is pretty fancy stuff. I would want it in stainless and not PVD/DLC though.

People get so worked up about personalizing a watch. Yet something like that Submariner Heritage Big Crown is so cool....that Sub was butchered compared to this.
JM is my favorite watch guy, because he has as much passion as a regular guy, appreciates a vintage piece, a high class Patek in jeans(while picking up dog poop) and yet open minded enough to see the creativity and just plain coolness of a DLC Daytona with Mickey splashed on the dial.

If Disney made this watch authorized by Rolex, they'd sell millions, guaranteed(ss for me).

He can buy anything he wants basically in the world. So why not, perhaps it is for a friends kid! He has money to burn and if I was the kid I would be stoked!

I believe Mickey is the vintage part. I remember previously reading a long time ago about Rolex making a mickey mouse dial watch. Here is a link to an article on the relationship between Disney and Rolex

And for those wondering if this is real or not, I just read an article that says this watch was just a prototype design. Personally I think it would be a really awesome watch if he could get it done and be a very unique piece in his already incredible collection

That dial is incredibly well done. Nice to have the money to commission such a watch by a watch artisan. Very cool that he went to a vintage Mickey design, and made it work with the Daytona dial and subdials.

I dunno, given the prices these things seem to command I'm more inclined to go for a perpetual calendar/vintage something. Even if I had every conceivable watch out there, I still can't see me putting that on.
