Icon4 For those with a PAM 317

how easy is it to scratch the case? I read a couple of threads that although thing may look like scratches they can be rubbed off with an eraser. I ask because I have the opportunity to purchase a Panerai 317 but dont have access to the actual watch to look over it. From the pictures the seller sent it seems like there are a few white hairline scratches above the 12 oclock position on the dial. I have attached photos and wanted to see what you guys though. According to the seller you can only see them in certain light and his nail does not get stuck when dragged across. wanted to see if these are the type of "scratches" or "marks" that can be removed... Thanks in advance!

if it can't be remove, than thats bad quality. dont buy it.

dont trust the seller, because what they want is your money, perhaps they have "sales target".

but try to remove first, if can be remove than you can buy it.

Thanks for the reply. Yea I asked him to try to remove it but he says that he doesn't want to scratch the bezel. So basically I have to buy as is. It s a great deal though. Well respected seller and about 50 percent off. The only reason I ask is because they talk about it on a Paneristi post:

Seller doesn't want to try to rub an eraser on ceramic for dear of scratching the ceramic?

Seems like the seller is pretty ignorant about ceramics.....but, as you say, the seller is well-respected.

If the price is right, you'll have to decide if you would be comfortable with a marked case. Most likely, you'll be able to remove the mark, but, just in case, can you live with the mark?

Definitely weird! Question, is that part of the bezel NOT CERAMIC? Heard from someone that that maybe the case. Price is definitely right I think at 14.5K.

per OP's site, bezel is ceramic: http://www.panerai.com/en/watch-coll...amica-pam00317.

Watches get scratches...saving half the price of a watch because a watch already has one seems like a great deal to me.
