OK, here's my first attempt at a review. So bare with me.

I had one of these a while back and loved the watch. I wore it for two years as my beater watch. It took everything I threw at it, and functioned flawlessly. The reason I sold it was due to the size. It was 38mm, and I just couldn't pull it off. The one I just got is 42mm.

Here's a pic of what the first one. It just had luminous dots behind the numbers and the hands glowed.

The bracelet is comfortable but a little big for me, so I have to go to my AD tomorrow to pick up my wife's watch. It's back from service and I'll have him take a link out of the bracelet for me. I don't have a screwdriver small enough.

It has a lower profile than my Sub or Black Monster, so it fits nice under a heavy jacket too.

It's pretty simple to operate. Wind it up and it goes. Pull the crown out to position one and the date changes. Position two and the second hand hacks, and you set the time. Counter clock wise to advance, clockwise to go backwards.

The dial is beautiful. It has a gloss chapter ring, with each minute having five different marks in between them. The red tipped second hand adds a nice touch.

The arabic numerals sit on a bunch of concentric circles and the military time sits on a disc that sits above the circles just a little bit. The finish on both is a nice matte black.

As far as the finish of the dial is concerned, it's fantastic. I looked over every spec of the dial with my loupe, and I couldn't find anything wrong. Everything is perfectly straight and in place. No shaky hands applying anything here.

The arabic numerals, dots behind them and the hands all are luminous. I'm not sure how long they glow because I haven't had it outside for any length of time yet. The hands look like mini sword hands.






On the back, there's a butterfly clasp that is pretty strong. It has two push buttons that have to be pushed in order to operate it.



It has a see thru case back. I've been looking at the movement quite a bit since I've had it It's pretty cool. As yo can see it 's water resistant to 100M or 330FT. That's good enough for the pool



It's hard to see in the picture, but it has a sapphire crystal with a very slight dome to it.



The only complaint I have so far is the clasp only has two adjusting holes on it. It's about 12 seconds fast in the the 22 hrs since I've set it. Maybe it'll settle in in a month or so, maybe not. If not, then that's ok too. For what I paid for it, I can't expect it to dead on so we'll see.

Thanks for braving the cold and getting those pics. That appears to be quite a lot of watch for the money. Very classy appearance, I really like the see through case back. Would be interested to know how the accuracy is once the watch has settled in. Congratulations.

Yes Jason, it's a bit lighter than the Sub, much lighter than my Black Monster, but it still has some heft to it.

Thanks Bo. I've had Hamilton dealers tell me that MSRP is either $475 or $525. No AD's close to me to check in person. The info I received was over the phone as Hamilton won't let an AD put a price or sell a watch over the net.

You can find them BNIB much cheaper on the net.

I threw out a lug width question to someone and hope to get a response sometime later today so when I do, I'll let you klnow ASAP. Maybe someone here will know

I really like the 42 MM size of it. In fact, sometimes I think the standard 40 MM Rolex sport's diametre is just a bit on the small side for me?

I had a look at an IWC Mark XVI recently, and it did not smile to me, at all. First of all, the case was very "flimsy". Although the case is 39 MM, it looked like a ladies' watch on my wrist. Besides that, the Arabic numerals were "dummies" as what lume is concerned. Only the marker at 12, the quarter markers and the hands glow on the IWC. I was very disappointed by its overall specs.

But this Hamilton? Very convincing! Also what the price is concerned. Quite reasonable. I will see if I can find a site that stocks it.

Fine review on a very good looking watch, Paulie. With your massive wrist, if you still had to take off one link, that must be one helluva large bracelet.

Wish Rolex would provide a larger bracelet so guys with big wrist don't have to go around forking out extra $$$ for the additional links.

Sorry I missed this before David.

The reference # is H70515137. So far it runs from 10-15 sec fast every day. I've asked a few questions and I am waiting for an answer if this is normal or not. Maybe it'll wear in, maybe not.

The reference # for the 38mm is H70455133


I wore it Tues-Sat about 10 hrs each day.

As soon as I find out, I'll let you know

From what I just found out, 10-15 sec is accebtable for an ETA 'unadjusted' watch. I can live with that. All I have to do is pull out the crown and hack the second hand to get it spot on
