I need help with Whisky
My wife's grandmother is remodeling her kitchen - and in the process of emptying her cabinets - we happened upon several bottles of Whisky that appear to have been there for the last 25-30 years.
I do not know much about Whisky, and I know there are some members who have quite the collections. From what limited research I was able to accomplish online, I was brought to understand that Whisky no longer ages once in the bottle. With that in mind - is it safe to assume that an average bottle of Whisky purchased 30 years ago remains an average bottle of Whisky - it was simply purchased 30 years ago? Are any of these worth drinking? I appreciate any help our Whisky aficionados could provide! Thanks in advance, Erik Ballantine's Finest Blended Scotch Whisky 86 Proof 4/5 Quart Heaven Hill Ultra Deluxe Straight Bourbon Whiskey Canadian Club Blended Canadian Whisky (Label says "This Whisky is Six Years Old") 1981 on the Tag over the cap. Two random boxes of cognac (doubt these are special) |
