Good News, Bad News...

Good news... I had a Milgauss GV on my wrist this morning.

Bad news... It wasn't mine and I had to give it back!

We have had 4 come into stock, all sold of course, and more bad news... there are approx 80 on the waiting list across our group. At least delivery has started again on the model.

I took some pics which I'll try to post tonight (bear with me as it's going to be my first attempt to upload pics!!). Apologies in advance for the poor camera phone photos.

Other good news...
My own watch has arrived too, GMT IIc. I've seen her, touched her, but can't take her home yet until all the stock is booked in.
It's driving me crazy My watch is in the building but I can't have it for another couple of days!

Same thing happened to. An AD in Copenhagen has two employees that wear MG GV! I did try one of them on, but of course neither of them were for sale.

Initially, I did not like the GV, but it's grown on me. However, if I flip, it's going to be for another Rolex model; probably the SD, believe it or not. I just miss that watch!

If I wait a couple of months I may be able to buy one, but I would have to give up the GMT now (as I don't want to pay for both).

This would be a daily wear for me and as much as I like the MG GV, I think I'd be happier with the GMT. The date and the versatile look of the watch as a casual or dressier watch just 'work' for me.

Any opinions... what would you guys choose?

Are you thinking about getting one Bo?

Bo...if you could only have one watch, of those you have owned, which one would it be; and why? This watch would have to meet all of your dress needs: causal, work, business, formal.

WOW it looks awesome. Why do they put the watches in these small plastic boxes?

man... it's tuff to see all these beautiful watches all stacked up in packing foam. We see them in their presentation boxes and they seem so special. - Nik

Little boxes with the foam are better for shipping. Hundreds of Rolex fresh in!

I brought mine home in the small box and an empty presentation box with it.

So the watches arrive like that at the dealership and the dealer is putting them into boxes?

That's how Rolex ship them to us. We match up the watches to the empty presentation boxes and then distribute to our stores.

That's interesting. I am asking these kind of questions cause there was a thread few days ago about whether the watches arrive at the dealership in plastic boxes like the ones in your pic or in the presentation boxes. Thanks a lot for the info

What form of shipment does Rolex use ship their watches to the dealers? I was always wondering how they get shipped to the dealers undamaged and not stolen.....do they use a shipping company like UPS or fed ex or they use something else?
