Sapphire on a 1601?

I have a Datejust 1601. I wanted to know if it is possible to upgrade the lens to a sapphire lens? I am not sure if it's frowned upon or not I just like the look of it on my other datejust. If anyone has pictures can you share them. Thanks

RSC won't do it. A third-party repair shop probably would.

I don't know if there would be any issues with the new crystal being a different thickness, seating, gaskets, etc.

the sexiest thing about vintage watches are the fat plexis

you would not be "upgarding", you would be "sacrileging"

Definite issues with water resistance after this modification. Switching a plexi watch to sapphire is poorly received here
